We’ll talk you out of things
If your ad budget is too small to produce honest data, or the channel is wrong for your practice, you’ll hear it. Selling work that won’t perform buys one invoice and loses a client.
About
Blue Ocean Strategies is Brandon Ostfeld and a small team of writers, designers and print partners. You work with them directly, Brandon included. No account managers — the layer clients tell us they left their last agency to escape.
It started in college, with none of the qualifications. Brandon and Max Martin, a childhood friend studying computer science, spent a year taking apart what works for small businesses. They landed on email and newsletters — the people who already know you cost less to reach and say yes more often.
The hard part was never the writing. It’s month four, when a busy practice quietly stops keeping the promise. So we built our own software for it. That’s why the date on the calendar is the date it ships.
If what you want is a layer of account managers and a quarterly strategy deck, there are good firms for that and we’ll name a couple. If you want the people doing the work to answer when you call, that’s this.

On the record
No client results dressed up as ours. No invented headcount. Just the numbers we can show you.

Every issue in the library opens in full — the pages, not just the covers.
How we behave
The things clients usually find out in month four. Better you hear them in week one.
If your ad budget is too small to produce honest data, or the channel is wrong for your practice, you’ll hear it. Selling work that won’t perform buys one invoice and loses a client.
Every statistic on this site names its source, and none are our clients’ results. We won’t promise a lead count before we’ve seen your market.
We’ll show you our work. We won’t say what another client pays, hand out their details, or use your material anywhere you haven’t agreed to.
The month itself — plan, produce, send, report — is on the home page
The founder
FounderBrandon sets the strategy, checks the work before it goes out and answers the phone. You deal with him directly, not with someone relaying it back to him. He also built the production system the newsletters are made on — unusual for an agency founder, and why the schedule holds.
Talk to BrandonSend a short note about your business and what is — or isn’t — happening with your marketing. Brandon reads every one and will tell you straight whether we’re a fit.
No pitch deck, no discovery-call gauntlet. One conversation, one straight answer.
